Port of Cagliari

The port of Cagliari, located just 11 miles from the Gibraltar-Suez section, represents one of the main hubs for transhipment activities in the western Mediterranean. It is divided into three areas: the historic port, which is spread over 5,800 meters of quay and has a vocation for commercial traffic, Ro-Ro, passenger and cruise ships (with a dedicated terminal); the canal port, which stretches over 1,600 meters and offers five berths for transhipment and Ro-Ro traffic. In the same area, in Sarroch - Porto Foxi, there are the petrochemical - oil berths with moorings for seventeen ships, serving one of the most important national refineries.

The passenger terminal is located about 400 meters from the purely port area (sterile), in the area of via Roma. In the sterile area there is a BAR, a ticket office for commercial vehicles and toilets. For passengers, in the immediate vicinity of the port, there are the other ticket offices.

The nearest intermodal center is located in Piazza Matteotti, about three minutes away by feet, where there are: the ARST bus station, the railway station, the terminus and stops of several CTM city buses, a Shuttle Bus connects all ships arriving and departing with the port entrance.
