A perfect itinerary up for those who want to enjoy the treasures of Cagliari's museums.
Cagliari is a city full of museums that allow visitors to learn about its history, its traditions and its culture. For devotees, the itinerary that includes the museums of the Duomo, the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Bonaria, the Archconfraternity of the Genoese and Blessed Nicola from Gesturi is particularly recommended.
The most important cultural center is the Citadel of Museums, which gathers the National Art Gallery with its magnificent retablos, the National Archaeological Museum with the precious testimonies of the Nuragic era, the collection of anatomical waxes by Clemente Susini and the Luigi Cocco collection (also known by the name of Ethnographic Museum). Art lovers can visit the Municipal Art Gallery which houses the permanent collection of contemporary Sardinian artists and the Palace of the City (Palazzo di Città), which hosts interesting art exhibitions every year.
