Ca' del Sol B&B is located in a 1800’s prestigious building in Cagliari city centre. Huge rooms with balcony and overview of the Port. At just 50 m there are the most important things of the city.
When you arrive in this town, perhaps for the first time, you’ll understand why we gave the name Càdelsol (House of the Sun) to our home.
We are right in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, 188Km from the Italian coast and 178Km from the African coast.
You will be dazzled by the golden tufa stone in which this ancient town was built. Your attention will be caught by the tall palm trees, magnolias in the parks and the constantly flowering poinsettias, as well as hibiscus and bouganvilia carpeted balconies and doorways. The vegetation thick with lentisk, cistes and bursting yellow broom abundant in the town in mild January.
The town and its Marina district are surrounded by the deep blue ocean and the salty scent of the sea begins to lift your spirits and digest the splendour of our ancient history.
When you wake up in the morning you can enjoy the view of the ships entering the port and watch the people coming and going and the many birds resting in the flamboyant magnolias and palm trees in the nearby park.
From the hall of our apartment in an elegant 19th century palace, as you enjoy your breakfast you will observe the seagulls drifting high in the sky yet the pulsing heart of Sardinia’s main city. Take time to think what you want to visit; monuments? museums ? or organize a trip inland to discover the famous nuraghe ruins built some 3200 years ago.
You will definitely want to visit the large natural white sandy Poetto beach that you can easily reach by bus in 10 minutes. If you get there by car you can also go to visit the treasures of the southern coast with the little rocky and sandy coves. Also think of a number of other activities: diving, racing on the crest of the waves with your windsurfing board, exploring the depths of the Sulcis area or just simply admiring the animals roaming in the WWF oasis of Monte Arcosu or the Montelargius pond.
If you fancy a day trip and you are nautically inclined, hop on a sailing-boat awaiting you at the dock for a tour of the blue Sardinian sea.
