The new Ballet Season of Teatro Lirico di Cagliari will start on December 20th with six different shows: the classic Nutcracker, Swan Lake by Angelin Preljocaj, Beethoven 7 by Sasha Waltz, Peer Gynt by Edward Clug, Béjart Ballet Lausanne, Roberto Bolle in Caravaggio.
From December 20th to 24th, The Nutcracker, the two-act classical ballet by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky,
From February 20th to 24th, The Swan Lake a ballet composed by Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky in 1875–76. Despite its initial failure, it is now one of the most popular ballets of all time.
From April 29th to May 3rd, Beethoven 7 arrives in Cagliari. A choreography with a strong visual impact, great intensity, and emotional power, interpreted by Sasha Waltz & Guests, a dance company founded in 1993 in Berlin by Sasha Waltz and Jochen Sandig.
From May 23rd to 27th , an another important debut at the Teatro Lirico in Cagliari: the Romanian choreographer Edward Clug leads the Maribor Ballet in the choreography of Peer Gynt based on Henrik Ibsen.
The dance season continues from October 9th to 11th with a special event: the talented Béjart Ballet Lausanne, presents 3 extraordinary choreographies by the famous founder: 7 Greek Dances (music by Mikīs Theodōrakīs), The Firebird (music by Igor Stravinsky), Boléro (music by Maurice Ravel).
Exceptional season closure with Roberto Bolle returning to the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari on October 16th and 17 with Caravaggio: a dance masterpiece created in 2008 and choreographed by Mauro Bigonzetti, Italy's most prominent international choreographer.
