From 16 November to 16 February 2025 the Palazzo di Città hosts a selection of over fifty little-known works from the sarda collection and the "Ugo Ugo" contemporary art collection.
The Memory and visions exhibition, commissioned by the Department of Culture, Entertainment and Tourism of the Municipality of Cagliari, organized by the Civic Museums of Cagliari with the collaboration of Orientare srl, includes a time frame that goes from 1859 to the end of the Eighties. To celebrate its ninety-first anniversary, the Civic Museums wanted to unearthing some masterpieces from the city's collections which have not been accessible to the public because they were kept in storage. Visitors will be able to admire the paintings of the late nineteenth century and first half of the twentieth century by Marghinotti, Melis Marini, Rossino, Maury and Dessy to the works born within the protests of the 1960s signed by artists such as Campus, Gilardi, Gallina and Rotella, together with the experiments of Locci and Vigo or the new languages of the 80s by Atzeni, Vargiu, Frogheri and Losengo. A journey into the world and history of the most famous Sardinian artists.
