European Night of Museums 2026
On Saturday 23rd there will be in the whole Europe the European Night of Museums, sponsored by the French Ministry of Culture and patronized by UNESCO, Europe Conseil and ICOM.
On this occasion museums and cultural sites will be open in the evening with a special entrance fee, only 1 euro.
Special openings will be enriched with events and initiatives organised together with associations and institutions, whose aim is to promote cultural heritage in a suggestive way.
In Cagliari it will be possible to visit the Archaeological Museum, the National Picture Gallery and the Basilica of San Saturnino.

National Museums (Archaeological Museum and National Picture Gallery)
On the occasion of the European Night of Museums, the National Museums of Cagliari organize a fantastic event.
From 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm (ticket office closes at 10:15 pm) it will be possible to visit the Archaeological Museum and the National Picture Gallery. Entrance fee is only 1 euro.
Additionally, at 8:00 pm in the National Picture Gallery, the Karalis Antiqua Ensemble will perform in the concert “Baroque Pills” with Sara Meloni, concertmaster, Noemi Mulas, harpsichord, Valentina Marghinotti, soprano, Federica Moi, alto, and Federico Melis, bass. Music by Claudio Monteverdi and Adriano Banchieri.

Extraordinary opening of San Saturnino Basilica and guided tours
On this occasion San Saturnino Basilica will be open from 6 pm to 10 pm.
Guided tours at the basilica and the archaeological area will be available in Italian and Sardinian language.
