The Church of Saint Francesco da Paola is also known by the name of San Francesco al Molo. Located along via Roma and in front of the port, it is officiated by the minimum friars who dedicated the title to the founder of the religious order since 1907. According to tradition, the saint performed a miracle freeing Cagliari from the terrible drought of 1739. The facade in style Classic dates back to 1932 and the lower part has a portico with three round arches. Inside stands a sumptuous late eighteenth century altar by the artist Giovanni Battista Spazzi.

The Church of Saint Francesco d'Assisi overlooks via Piemonte, in the La Vega district. Entrusted to the conventual friars who live in the nearby convent, the title is dedicated to the famous religious from Assisi. Built between the fifties and sixties of the twentieth century on a project by the engineer Marco Piloni, it has a dark stone facade decorated with a polychrome glass window.

The Church of Saint Domenico is located in the homonymous square, one of the most characteristic and popular places in the Villanova district. The church is officiated by the Dominican friars who live in the nearby convent. The first plant of the building constituted an important testimony of the Catalan Gothic architecture present in the city but was destroyed by the bombings of 1943. Above its remains the new church was built between 1952 and 1954 and the direction of the works entrusted to the Florentine architect Raffaello Fagnoni. The external facade in white limestone is flanked by a high bell tower.

The Church of Saint Cesello overlooks via San Giovanni, in the Villanova district. It was built in 1702 thanks to the funds donated by the Gremio dei Bottai. The members wanted to create a chapel as the headquarters of the association and chose the place that until the nineteenth century housed the Porta Cabanes, an important link between the neighborhood and the Campidano countryside. The simple facade is decorated with an ogival arch and a small sail bell tower stands out above.

The Church of Saint Carlo Borromeo overlooks the homonymous street. The title is dedicated to the cardinal and archbishop, venerated as a saint and considered one of the greatest reformers of the Church in the sixteenth century. The building was built using reinforced concrete and polychrome stone for the closures. The external facade is characterized by exposed stone in square blocks and the bell tower covered with bricks stands out.

The Church of San Benedetto or the Good Shepherd is located in the San Benedetto district, an area of ​​Cagliari that experienced intense urban development in the first half of the twentieth century. The temple and the adjoining convent were erected in 1643 by the will of a nobleman of Genoese origin Don Benedetto Nater who wanted to donate them to the Capuchin friars. The friars lived here until 1885 when the convent closed following the entry into force of the law to suppress religious orders. The facade reproduces elements of the Aragonese Gothic style especially in the portal surmounted by two oculi. The interior develops with a simple barrel-vaulted nave and hosts a wooden sculpture of the dead Christ dating back to the seventeenth century.

The Church of Saint Bartolomeo is located in the homonymous square and was erected in the 17th century inspired by the canons of the Catalan Gothic style. It hosted the seat of the Beccai, the butchers. The simple gabled façade culminates with a bell tower while the portal was remodeled in the 18th century in the Piedmontese Baroque style. Inside the only nave is surrounded by some lateral chapels among which the one dedicated to the Madonna of Trapani stands out, whose construction is due to the legacy of a noblewoman of Sicilian origins. A sumptuous baroque altar is embellished by the seventeenth-century statue of the Virgin venerated in Trapani.

The Church of Our Lady of Fatima is located in Giorgino, the famous fishing village of Cagliari. The title is linked to the Virgin, protector of sailors and fishermen, honored with a procession at sea which is held every year in May. The building is preceded by a modern portico. The facade is characterized by a pitched roof and two rectangular windows in the upper part. The interior, with a rectangular plan, has a lateral nave separated by round arches.

The Church of Our Lady of Hope is located in the heart of Castello district, next to the Cathedral of Santa Maria. It was built as a noble chapel of the Aymerich family, the Marquises of Laconi who lived in a nearby building, destroyed by the bombings of 1943. In 1535, on the occasion of his visit to Cagliari, King Charles V granted the coat of arms of the eagle to the noble family, represented on the façade.

The Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, originally built in 1580, was completely rebuilt in the 1950s in a Pisan Romanesque style due to the damages sustained during the Second World War, in 1943. The church has a single nave with side chapels, it has a barrel vault surmounted by a dome and is decorated with stupendous mosaics: the one that decorates the apse (made by the artist Aligi Sassu) is enormous and beautiful and it represents the story of Carmel, with the imposing figure of the Prophet Elijah in the centre. The main altar is in marble, the bell tower is surmounted by a bronze statue of the Madonna and in the central chapel, dedicated to the Virgin, a beautiful wooden statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Mount Carmel, which dates back to the eleventh century, is still visible. According to the legend, this statue was taken from Mount Carmel in Rome and donated to a member of the Ripoli family from Neoneli. On his journey to Cagliari, this member of the Ripoli family survived a terrible storm and he decided to build a chapel in honor of the Madonna as a way of saying thanks to the Virgin for saving his life. In centre of Piazza del Carmine, the main square near the church, there is an imposing statue of the Madonna of Mount Carmel, whose feast is celebrated on July 16th.
