Fra Nicola from Gesturi was born on August 5, 1882 and died in Cagliari on June 8, 1958. Belonging to the religious order of the Capuchin friars, he is revered as blessed by the Catholic Church. His liturgical memory is celebrated on the day of his death and his remains, together with those of Saint Ignazio from Laconi, are kept in the Capuchin church in Cagliari. He went down in history as the friar of silence, he spoke very little, outside and inside the convent, only to remember the will of God. During the Second World War he continued to give assistance to the most needy people, among the rubble of a city destroyed by bombing.
