San Benedetto Market was inaugurated on June 1, 1957 and with its 8,000 square metres on two floors is one of the largest city markets in Europe.
The ground floor is dedicated to fish, while on the upper floor there are fruit and vegetables stalls, meat, cheese and many other typical products.
The early morning (except on Sundays when the market is closed) is the ideal time to visit the market. You will find a lively environment, with colours and intense aromas, crowded with the usual customers and many tourists. The shops and bars around the market are also the occasion for an unforgettable breakfast or snack.
The Market can be easily reached by CTM bus line M; stop “via Bacaredda - mercato civico”.
