The church, that was built in the eighteenth century, is located in via Manno, inside Marina district, over a chapel of a preexisting hospital, which during the past, was part of a convent.
On the outside, the temple is characterized by a façade with a big portal, above which there is an elaborate niche containing the statue of the saint.
The interior has an octagonal plan and six side chapels with barrel vault; the decoration is in late Baroque style, with green plasters on which stand golden stuccos. In the chancel, there is a polychrome marble altar, decorated with golden stucco too.
