Built since 1953, the Church of the Miraculous Medal is located in the large San Michele square. The structure, imposing and modern, was made of reinforced concrete with an external coating in stone blocks. The facade is preceded by a porticoed atrium. The building is dominated by a majestic hexagonal dome, at the apex of which there is a large golden statue of the Madonna. Its name derives from the medal, later defined "miraculous", made following the Marian apparitions had by Santa Caterina Labouré in 1830.
