The Church of the Madonna of Pity stands in the upper part of the Marina district, annexed to the monastery of the Capuchin nuns. In the first years of the eighteenth century the religious arrived in Cagliari and the monastery church was consecrated a century later. In the nineteenth century the complex passed into the hands of the state, following the entry of the laws for the suppression of religious orders. Both buildings were returned to the nuns only in 1969. The church has a simple facade, with an horizontal coronomento and a bell tower. The portal is surmounted by two windows and the Savoy coat of arms stands out. The interior has a single nave, barrel vaulted and the presbytery is embellished with an altar in polychrome marble.
