Bust and Commemorative Plaque of Giuseppe Peretti

Over the course of time, Cagliari has given birth to several characters who have distinguished themselves in numerous fields, from literary to scientific. Among these stands out the figure of Giuseppe Peretti, doctor and politician, remembered through a bust and a plaque in the Citadel of Museums, whose construction as a cultural center of the city, was strongly desired by the illustrious Cagliari’s citizen. Giuseppe Peretti was born in the county seat and here he held the office of rector of the university for a long time. He was also appointed dean of the faculty of medicine and elected mayor of the city for a short period.
