The office manages the bike sharing and car sharing services by setting up pick-up and drop-off points.
Additionally, it handles the issuance of pink passes for use in dedicated parking spaces for pregnant women or parents with children under one year of age.
BIKE SHARING
CaBuBi stands for “Cagliari by bus and bike.” It is the municipal bike sharing service managed by a temporary consortium of companies formed by Playcar and Ctm.
There are 60 bicycles available in one-way mode: 50 classic pedal bikes, 6 pedal-assist bikes, 3 tandems, and one cargo bike equipped with a spacious front trailer for potential transport. The one-way mode allows bike pickup and return at each of the 10 stations located throughout the city.
Soon, an additional 70 bicycles will be available in free-flow mode, meaning they can be picked up and dropped off at more widespread locations, including near major CTM bus stops, to promote intermodality between different modes of transportation.
CAR SHARING
Car sharing is a service that allows reservation-based use of an automobile. Users can pick up and return the car at designated parking areas and pay based on actual usage.
The Municipality of Cagliari has granted the car sharing service concession to Playcar Srl., headquartered in Cagliari.
The service provides access to a fleet of fifty modern vehicles, including low-emission models: 20% compliant with EURO5 regulations, 70% compliant with EURO6 regulations, and 10% electric vehicles.
