The Fish Festival at the Fishermen's Village in Giorgino is back, now in its 39th edition.
This event features a wide variety of traditional seafood dishes, carefully prepared to highlight the flavors of the sea and local age-old traditions.
Tasting menu:
Traditional starter: pisci a collettu e olive (literally "Fish with a collar" and olives). It is an ironic vegetarian dish made with broad beans. Poor farmers who could not afford real fish for festivals called those boiled broad beans "fish" because the dark spot on the bean looks like a small collar.
Fried fish: mixed fried fishes from the lagoon
On the grill: roasted mullets and pilchards
